MEC
Supreme Court of Louisiana September 04, 2025
Based on the reasoning and analysis set forth in Justice McCallum's dissent to this Court's June 27, 2025 opinion, I would grant rehearing in this case.
Hughes, J., additionally concurs in the rehearing denial. The promise was made effective during the legal regime. McCallum, J., would grant the rehearing. Cole, J., would grant the rehearing. Bliech, A.H.J., would grant and assigns reasons. Retired Judge John Conery, appointed Justice ad hoc, sitting for Chief Justice Weimer, recused. Retired Judge E. Joseph Bleich, appointed Justice ad hoc, sitting for Justice Crain, recused. Retired Judge Martin E. Coady, appointed Justice ad hoc, sitting for Justice Guidry, recused.
