Carlos L. WOODSON, Appellant(s)/Petitioner(s), v. The STATE of Florida, Appellee(s)/Respondent(s),
It has come to the Court's attention that the purported signature of a licensed Florida attorney on Mr. Woodson's petition for mandamus in this case is a misrepresentation and was never authorized by the attorney. Based on a bar order entered by this Court in 2016, Woodson v. State, 187 So. 3d 906, 907-08 (Fla. 3d DCA 2016), the Clerk would have rejected Mr. Woodson's petition absent the apparent signature of the attorney.
The written request of the attorney to be removed as an attorney of record in this case is granted. The petition for mandamus is stricken based on the 2016 bar order. The Clerk is directed to forward to the Honorable Jeff Siegmeister, State Attorney for the Third Judicial Circuit, copies of: (1) the petition for mandamus; (2) the attorney's written notification letter; and (3) a copy of this Order, for any action deemed appropriate by the State Attorney. See § 837.06, Florida Statutes (2019).
SALTER, SCALES and LINDSEY, JJ., concur.
