JOANNE ELIZABETH VENA, Appellant(s)/Petitioner(s), v. FRASER YACHTS, et al., Appellee(s)/Respondent(s),
On April 12, 2023, this Court issued an Order directing pro se Appellant to, within ten (10) days, show cause as to why this appeal should not be dismissed as one taken from a non-final, non-appealable order. This Court's April 12, 2023, Order cited to Dedge v. Crosby, 914 So. 2d 1055, 1056 (Fla. 1st DCA 2005) (dismissing, for lack of jurisdiction, appeal of order that merely granted, with prejudice, a motion to dismiss without actually dismissing the action). Having received no response to the April 12, 2023, Order, on May 24, 2023, this Court again issued the Order to Show Cause.
While pro se Appellant has filed submissions with this Court regarding filing an amended initial brief, pro se Appellant has not responded to the threshold jurisdictional question, raised in this Court's two (2) show cause Orders, of whether this Court can exercise appellate jurisdiction to review the trial court's January 26, 2023, order that merely grants a dismissal motion. This Court, therefore, dismisses this appeal for lack of jurisdiction.
FERNANDEZ, C.J., and EMAS and SCALES, JJ., concur.
