United States Ninth Circuit
US v. WILLIAMS, 02-30209
Before a supervised release condition of mandatory medication can be imposed at sentencing, the district court must make on-the-record, medically grounded findings that court-ordered medication is necessary to accomplish one or more of the factors listed in 18 U.S.C. section 3583(d)(1). Per section 3583(d)(2), the court must also explicitly find that the condition "involves no greater deprivation of liberty than is reasonably necessary."
