United States Sixth Circuit

Williams v. Anderson, 04-3515/3585

A judgment granting petitioner a conditional writ of habeas corpus and vacating his death sentence, but denying a writ as to his conviction, is affirmed where petitioner's death sentence was imposed in violation of the constitution as his trial attorney rendered ineffective assistance of counsel by failing to investigate and present mitigation evidence, and his conviction was not unconstitutionally imposed.
