United States Fourth Circuit

IN RE: AM. HONDA MOTOR CO., 01-2194

Invocation of the All Writs Act to enjoin multi-district litigation (MDL) parties from enforcing a "blue sky damages" portion of an arbitration award was proper, as the injunction was necessary to prevent the direct frustration of a district court Settlement Approval Order and to cure injustices from abuse of the MDL process.
