United States Supreme Court
Rosales-Mireles v. US, 16-9493
In a federal sentencing case, a procedural error was made in the calculation of the defendant's sentence. The Court of Appeal declined to exercise its discretion to vacate and remand for resentencing. The US Supreme Court reversed and remanded the Court of Appeals, stating that they had abused their discretion and that courts should correct a plain error that affects substantial rights.
