United States Supreme Court

Kisela v. Hughes, 17-467

Granting a petition for certiorari and reversing the judgment of the Court of Appeals that the shooting of a knife-wielding woman was a violation of the Fourth Amendment because the woman's failure to respond to police requests to drop the weapon and her proximity to a third party provided probable cause that she posed a threat of serious harm to the officers or others and it was not unconstitutionally unreasonable to prevent escape by the use of deadly force.
