United States Supreme Court

Texas v. New Mexico, 141

Holding that the United States may pursue claims interceding in an action relating to the Rio Grande Compact establishing water supply agreements between Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas because the court has authority to permit the federal government to participate in compact suits to defend the distinctively federal interests that a normal litigant might not be permitted to pursue in traditional litigation.
