United States Supreme Court
Betterman v. Montana, 14-1457
Sentence and conviction for bail jumping after failing to appear in court on domestic assault charges, are affirmed, over defendant's claim that his Sixth Amendment right to a speedy trial was violated when he was jailed for over 14 months awaiting sentence, where the Sixth Amendment's speedy trial guarantee does not apply once a defendant has been found guilty at trial or has pleaded guilty to criminal charges.
