United States Supreme Court
Woods v. Etherton, 15-723
In an action seeking relief under the Antiterrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act of 1996 (AEDPA), on grounds of ineffective assistance of counsel, the Sixth Circuit's judgment, that petitioner's appellate counsel had been constitutionally ineffective, and that no fairminded jurist could conclude otherwise, is reversed where the Court of Appeals did not apply the appropriate standard of review under AEDPA.
