Baker Botts L.L.P. v. ASARCO LLC, 14-103
In a case in which petitioner law firm was hired to assist respondent in carrying out its duties as a Chapter 11 debtor in possession (DIP), under 11 U.S.C. section 327(a), the Fifth Circuit's rejection of petitioner's attorney fee applications, under section 330(a)(1), is affirmed where section 330(a)(1) does not permit bankruptcy courts to award fees to Section 327(a) professionals for defending fee applications.
