United States Supreme Court

Commil USA, LLC v. Cisco Systems, Inc., 13-896

In a case alleging direct and induced infringement of a patent for a method of implementing short-range wireless networks, the Federal Circuit's judgment that the trial court erred in excluding defendant's evidence of its good-faith belief that plaintiff's patent was invalid, is vacated and remanded where a defendant's belief regarding patent validity is not a defense to an induced infringement claim.
