United States Supreme Court

Florida v. Jardines, 11-564

Using a drug-sniffing dog on defendant-homeowner's porch to investigate the contents of the home is a "search" within the meaning of the Fourth Amendment, and therefore the judgment of the Supreme Court of Florida suppressing evidence obtained from that search is affirmed.
