United States Supreme Court

Stern v. Marshall, 10–179

In a dispute involving the scope of 28 U. S. C. section 157, judgment of the appeals court reversing entry of final judgment on a tort counterclaim in a bankruptcy proceeding is affirmed where although the bankruptcy court had the statutory authority to enter judgment as a core proceeding, it lacked the constitutional authority to do so.
