United States Supreme Court
US v. FLORES-MONTANO, 02-1794
Removal and disassembly of a vehicle's gas tank in the course of an international border inspection does not require reasonable suspicion. The interference with a motorist's possessory interest in his gas tank is justified by the Government's paramount interest in preventing the entry of unwanted persons and effects.
