GISBRECHT v. BARNHART, 01-131

42 U.S.C. section 406(b)(1)(A), authorizing that an attorney representing a Social Security claimant receive 25 percent of "past-due" benefits awarded, does not displace contingent-fee agreements within the statutory ceiling, but instead instructs courts to review fees under those agreements for "reasonableness."
