Stryker Corp. v. Zimmer, Inc., 2013-1668

On remand from the U.S. Supreme Court, in an infringement action involving patents concerning pulsed lavage devices, which deliver pressurized irrigation for certain medical therapies, including orthopedic procedures and cleaning wounds, the District Court's judgement is: 1) re-affirmed as to the jury's findings that plaintiff's patents were valid and infringed; 2) affirm the jury's finding of willful infringement, in light of the new willfulness standard articulated by the Supreme Court; but 3) vacated and remand the district court's award of treble damages.
