United States Federal Circuit

Indacon, Inc. v. Facebook, Inc., 2015-1129

In a suit against Facebook, alleging that the software architecture for its social network infringes claims of a patent directed to a system and method for searching, indexing, perusing, and manipulating files in a database, particularly through the insertion of automatically generated hyperlinks, the District Court's construction of several claim terms in favor of defendant is affirmed where the district court correctly construed the claim terms "alias," "custom link," "custom linking relationship," and "link term."
