United States Federal Circuit

Power Integrations, Inc. v. Lee, 14-1123

In an infringement action related to a patent directed to a technique for reducing electromagnetic interference by jittering the switching frequency of a switched mode power supply, the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences decision rejecting four claims of the patent as anticipated under 35 U.S.C. section 102(b), is vacated and remanded where the board erred in failing to address the district court's previous interpretation of the term "coupled" as used in the claims at issue.
