US v. Trek Leather, Inc., 11-1527
Judgment of the Court of International Trade holding defendant liable for understating the value of his imported merchandise and thereby reducing customs duties, is affirmed, where: 1) defendant introduced the merchandise into United States commerce by means of the undervaluation within the meaning of 19 U.S.C. section 1592(a)(1)(A); and 2) because defendant was grossly negligent in his actions, he violated section 1592(a)(1)(A).
