Scientific Plastic Products v. Biotage AB, 13-1219
In this patent infringement action involving a chromatography cartridge, the district court stayed the infringement litigation to allow for inter partes reexamination of the three patents-at-issue. The Patent Trial and Appeal Board's rejection and cancellation of all claims is affirmed, where it would have been obvious for a person of ordinary skill in the field of the invention to modify the chromatography cartridge with a resealable threaded cap.
