United States Federal Circuit

Stephen Slesinger, Inc. v. Disney Enterprises, Inc., 11-1593

In plaintiff's challenge to the trademark rights related to Winnie-the-Pooh and other characters owned by Disney Enterprises, the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board's (Board) judgment in favor of the defendant is affirmed where the Board correctly applied collateral estoppel to prevent plaintiff from asserting a claim that its 1983 grant of rights to defendant was a license as opposed to an assignment.
