Sandisk Corp. v. Kingston Tech. Co., Inc., 11-1346

In a suit for infringement of patents related to various aspects of flash memory used, for example, in USB "thumb drives," computers, smart phones, and mp3 players, judgment of the district court is: 1) reversed as to the district court's claim constructions of certain claims of the '424, the '824, and the '316 patents, and judgment of noninfringement in favor of defendant as to those claims is vacated; 2) affirmed as to the district court's judgment of no literal infringement of claim 79 of '316 patent; and 3) vacated as to its judgment that defendant did not infringe claim 20 of the '424 patent and claim 79 of the '316 patent under the doctrine of equivalents.
