United States Federal Circuit
CIAS, Inc. v. Alliance Gaming Corp., 2006-1342
In a patent infringement suit brought against defendants involving a patent directed to detection of counterfeit betting tickets used in certain slot machines, summary judgment of non-infringement is affirmed where, although the district court erred in its construction of the term "comprised of," that error did not affect the construction of the substantive terms that supported the judgment of non-infringement.
