VERVE, L.L.C. v. CRANE CAMS, INC., 01-1417

In claims from patents relating to rods for internal combustion engines, 1) the court erred in requiring that intrinsic evidence of the specification and prosecution history is the sole source of meaning of words that are used in a technologic context, and 2) summary judgment of invalidity on the ground of anticipation is reversed.
