United States DC Circuit
Medina v. Whitaker, 17-5248
Affirmed the dismissal of a convicted felon's challenge to a federal law that prohibited him from owning firearms for life. He argued that the lifetime ban was unconstitutional because his felony was nonviolent and he posed no heightened risk of gun violence. However, the D.C. Circuit rejected his constitutional challenge to the statute, concluding that felons are not entitled to the protections of the Second Amendment.
