United States DC Circuit
LeFande v. Dist. of Columbia, 09-7080
In an action alleging that the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) violated the First Amendment by terminating plaintiff's position with the MPD Reserve Corps in retaliation for his making protected speech, a dismissal of the action is reversed where the district court erred in holding that plaintiff's speech did not relate to a matter of public concern and was therefore not protected by the First Amendment.
