US v. Valdes, 03-3066

Defendant-former detective's conviction for receipt of illegal gratuities for or because of an official act is reversed pursuant to claims that the district court's erroneously interpreted the statute of conviction, and that the government failed to show that the acts for which defendant received compensation were official acts.
