United States Ninth Circuit
Taylor v. County of Pima, 17-16980
Held that a former inmate could not recover damages for wrongful incarceration. When potential exculpatory evidence surfaced, he entered into a new plea deal under which he was resentenced to time served (40 years) and released from prison. His new plea of no contest barred him from seeking damages. Affirmed the dismissal of his civil rights lawsuit.
