Sandoval v. County of Sonoma, 16-16122
Held that law enforcement officials violated the Fourth Amendment when they impounded two vehicles after traffic stops because the drivers had not been issued California driver's licenses. The officials relied on an incorrect interpretation of a state vehicle impoundment law. Affirmed summary judgment for the drivers, in relevant part.
