Campbell v. City of Los Angeles, 15-56990
Affirmed the decertification of a pair of related Fair Labor Standards Act collective actions alleging that a police department had a pervasive, unwritten policy discouraging the reporting of overtime. The plaintiff police officers argued that the district court should not have decertified their collective actions. However, the Ninth Circuit concluded that the officers lacked any evidence of a department-wide policy or practice, as required to maintain a collective action. The panel therefore affirmed the district court's decision.
