United States Ninth Circuit

Chippewa Cree Tribe v. US Department of the Interior, 15-71772

Denied an Indian tribe's petition for review of an order of the Department of the Interior which had required the tribe to stop retaliating against a whistleblower. The tribe raised procedural and substantive challenges to the Department's order requiring it to provide back pay and other relief to a member of the tribe's governing body who was removed from his position after he informed the federal government of the possible misuse of federal stimulus funds. Unconvinced by the tribe's arguments, the Ninth Circuit affirmed the Department's order.
