United States Ninth Circuit
Vasquez-Valle v. Sessions, 13-74213
Granted an undocumented immigrant's petition for review of a decision ordering him removed from the United States. The Board of Immigration Appeals had ruled that the Mexican citizen, who has a U.S. citizen wife, was ineligible for cancellation of removal because his Oregon conviction for witness tampering constituted a crime involving moral turpitude. On appeal, the Ninth Circuit concluded that the offense was not categorically one involving moral turpitude. The panel thus granted his petition for review and remanded for further proceedings.
