United States Ninth Circuit
US v. Nature, 17-10161
Affirmed a conviction for being dangerously under the influence of alcohol while on federal land adjacent to Yosemite National Park. The defendant argued that a federal regulation prohibiting dangerous drinking in a park area did not apply here because he was arrested by a park ranger outside the boundaries of Yosemite in the so-called El Portal Administrative Site. Disagreeing, the Ninth Circuit held that the regulation applied to El Portal too.
