United States Ninth Circuit
Golden v. California Emergency Physicians Medical Group, 16-17354
Reversed an order directing an employment discrimination plaintiff (a medical doctor) to sign a settlement agreement after he orally agreed to the terms. In reversing the Ninth Circuit agreed with the doctor's argument that he should not be required to sign the agreement because it contained a material term that was void under California law as it placed a substantial restraint on his future medical practice.
