United States Ninth Circuit

Barnes v. Berryhill, 16-35815

Reversed a social security disability benefits determination which had found that plaintiff was not disabled due to his multiple impairments and was instead capable of working. In reversing, the Ninth Circuit held that the Commissioner of Social Security erred because, in determining that he was capable of working, the administrative law judge failed to make written findings regarding the transferability of his skills, as required under Social Security Ruling 82-41. The Ninth Circuit reversed remanded for further proceedings.
