United States Ninth Circuit

Smith v. City and County of Honolulu, 14-17309

Affirming the district court judgment following a jury trial and denying the plaintiff's post trial motions alleging the violation of their Fourth Amendment rights by police who detained him for 47 hours after a drug arrest that resulted in dropped charges because the court didn't abuse its discretion in denying a new trial and holding that the police had probable cause to support a 48 hour hold of the suspect.
