United States Ninth Circuit
Southwire Company v. Cerro Wire LLC, 16-2287
Affirming the decision of the US Patent and Trademark Office and Patent Trial and Appeal Board that patents for a method of manufacturing electric cable by incorporating lubricant into the cable sheath rather than applying the lubricant just prior to installation was unpatentable as obvious since lubrication's reduction in pulling force needed is inherent.
