Convictions arising out of alleged membership or association with a gang are (1) remanded when there is insufficient fact-finding in connection with the defendants’ joint Brady claims, and (2) vacated and remanded for a new trial when the conviction is due to defects in the district court’s handling of defendants' requests for substitution of counsel.
