United States Ninth Circuit

US v. Eglash, 14-30132

Conviction for four counts of mail fraud is affirmed where there was sufficient evidence that defendant's scheme for fraudulently obtaining Social Security disability benefits relied on the government's mailing of a notice of disability award to defendant. Conviction on one count is reversed where the government's mailing of a summary of defendant's statements in applying for benefits was not in furtherance of the scheme.
