United States Ninth Circuit
Pac. Radiation Oncology v. Queen's Med. Ctr., 14-17050
In an unfair trade practices action between plaintiff physicians and defendant hospital that gave rise to an inadvertent public disclosure of patient information in court filings by defendant, the district court's denial of plaintiff's temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction is affirmed. The court held that a court can only grant injunctive relief where there is a sufficient nexus between the claims raised in a motion for injunctive relief and the conduct asserted in the underlying complaint.
