United States Ninth Circuit
Beltran v. Astrue, 09-56255
In a case in which a woman filed applications for both Social Security Disability Insurance benefits and Social Security Income benefits, and an ALJ denied benefits for a certain period, the district court's grant of summary judgment affirming the ALJ's decision is reversed, where the SSA Commissioner erred in concluding that there existed a "significant number" of jobs in the regional and national economy that the plaintiff could do, given the rarity of surveillance system monitor jobs and the plaintiff's physical and mental limitations.
