United States Ninth Circuit

US v. Yeung, 10-10381

On appeal of a restitution order imposed by the district court after a jury convicted the appellant of various crimes associated with her involvement in a fraudulent real estate investment scheme, the restitution order is: 1) vacated in part, where the district court failed to provide an adequate explanation of its reasoning in calculating the amount of restitution to certain victims; and 2) affirmed in part, where the district court did not err in relying on hearsay in ordering restitution to another victim.
