United States Ninth Circuit

US v. Havelock, 08-10472

Conviction and sentencing of defendant for mailing threatening communications in violation of 18 U.S.C. section 876(c) are vacated because Section 876(c) refers exclusively to an individual, or to a natural, person, and therefore defendant's threatening letters to media outlets and websites did not qualify as a Section 876(c) offense.
