Williams v. Cavazos, 07-56127

In a petition for habeas relief from the sentencing of petitioner to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole, judgment of the district court denying petition is reversed where trial court's intrusion into jury deliberations and the subsequent dismissal of a hold out juror violated petitioner’s Sixth Amendment rights.
