US v. 191.07 Acres of Land, 04-35131

An award of over $300,000 in compensation for the taking by the U.S. of defendant's unpatented gold-mining claims in Denali National Park and Preserve is affirmed over claims that the district court erred in: 1) determining that he was not entitled to a trial by jury of just compensation for his claims; 2) selecting a valuation method different from those proposed by the parties; and 3) setting the rate of prejudgment interest.
