Renderos v. Ryan, 05-16454
Denial of a petition for a writ of habeas corpus from a conviction for felony sex offenses is affirmed over claims of error regarding: 1) an Ex Post Facto claim regarding application of Cal. Pen. Code section 803(g), which extended the statute of limitations for sex offenses with minors; 2) a holding that the conditions for invoking section 803(g) could be proven by a standard lower than "reasonable doubt"; 3) a violation of due process in the admission of evidence of defendant's other bad acts; 4) prosecutorial misconduct; 5) ineffective assistance of counsel; and 6) cumulative error.
