United States Ninth Circuit
Bass v. County of Butte, 04-16705, 04-17286
The 1992 and 1996 amendments to California's Unruh Civil Rights Act (Unruh Act) and the Disabled Persons Act (DPA) incorporate into the Unruh Act and the DPA only those provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) that are germane to the statutes' original subject matter. Thus, the district court properly dismissed plaintiffs' employment discrimination claims brought under the Unruh Act and the DPA.
