United States Ninth Circuit
Kamakana v. City & County of Honolulu, 04-15241
An order, pursuant to a newspaper's request, unsealing pleadings and documents in an underlying suit by a police detective claiming retaliation by a city and county for his whistleblower activities is affirmed where there was no abuse of discretion in a determination that continued secrecy was no longer warranted for almost all of the documents currently under seal.
